Democracy, good governance, human rights and socio-economic development are critical matters for South Africa and Africa as a whole.

The African Student Law Journal (ASLJ) is a student-centered initiative based at the University of the Western Cape. Launched in November 2023, the journal is published online. It aims to enhance the visibility of undergraduates and master’s students, and their contributions to current legal debates through publications.
