This book launch will address international solidarity as an evolving norm enabling coordinated responses to global challenges including global inequality within trade regimes, the impact of climate change, and systemic human rights violations. The book analyzes the scope of international solidarity in relation to human rights and duties, in particular the need to safeguard transnational civic spaces to promote emancipatory strategies for marginalized groups. In particular, there is discussion of solidarity within the African normative and institutional framework.
