A notable aspect of Africa’s struggle with its colonial legacies is the co-existence of indigenous laws that emerged in agrarian settings with state laws that emerged in industrial settings. We are pleased to announce the call for papers for the international conference “Law, Technology and Labour” organized by the University of Bologna, within the framework of the Jean Monnet Module “EULA – EU Law for Algorithm”, in collaboration with Curtin Law School, Curtin University (Perth, Australia), which will take place on 30 June – 1 July 2022 in Bertinoro (nearby Bologna). The conference is aimed at promoting an international debate on the impact of technology and algorithms in peoples’ lives in the fields of labour law, private law, public law and legal studies at large. Academics and experts in the field of Labour Law, Private Law, Public Law, and other legal disciplines are invited to submit an abstract (in English) of maximum 500 words to the organizing committee by 10 April 2022 at eula@unibo.it. Selected papers presented during the two-day Conference will be reviewed for a forthcoming publication of the Conference book.
