Bio in brief
Teno Jooste is the Chairperson of the Law Students Council at UWC. In 2016, he started his journey at UWC in the Faculty of Arts, from where he transferred to the Faculty of Law in 2017. He was top of the Dean’s Merit Awards from 2016 to 2017.
Since then, he has never finished lower than third on the list. He was the top performer for the Law of Contract and Labour Law and was inducted into the Golden Key Honour Society in 2018. Jooste has been involved in the Street Law Society since 2019. In Dec 2018, he accepted articles of clerkship at top law firm, ENS Africa, where he will specialise in corporate and commercial law in 2021. Jooste’s research paper probes pathological criminal incapacity as a defence loophole for criminal offenders. In his spare time, he drafts wills and renders legal advice in his community.
